Does my thatch need attention?
It is a good idea to look critically at your thatched roof at least once a year. By doing so you may find minor problems which are easily put right, averting the need for more expensive repairs at a later date.
Will I need a complete re-thatch?
Even if a roof has suffered extensive damage, it may not be necessary to undergo a complete re-thatching. It is often possible to remove the affected material and build up the roof again with new straw or reed.
